CLIL IN DUBLIN: CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING

El terme Glendalough significa en gaèlic el vall de dos llacs. Aquest indret a aproximadament una hora i mitja de Dublin té un valor molt important per als irlandesos ja que és considerat el primer monestir cristià que es va crear a Irlanda al Sisé segle. Va ser Sant Kevin qui va renunciar a la seua vida (més còmoda) ja que era d'una familia rica i es va retirar a aquest paratge on amb posterioritat a la seua mort es fundà un monestir. En aquest curs hem connectat Dublin i Glendalough com a temes exemple per treballar les diferents activitats i conceptes que constitueixen la metodologia CLIL. Ací vos deixe unes fotos del lloc...... Una de les coses que aquestos cursos permeten és conéixer una altra ciutat, d'un altre pais, amb unes altres costums, tradicions, història, cultura....i això sense dubtes és una font de riquesa que incorporem al nostre coneixement i a la nostra persona. Ací vos deixe algunes fotos d'una visita a Dublinia (una exposició que conta la història d'Irlanda centrant-se especialment a l'època vikinga i l'edad mitjana. Not only this kind of training courses improve the skills of the teacher, but also they contribute to increase the knowledge of other city,  other country with diferents traditions, history, culture... That's, doubtlessly, a source of knowlege that we add to our personality and make us grow as a person. Aquest és el centre es du a terme la formació. La veritat és que té molt bones instal·lacions. Ara que ja han passat uns dies de curs puc dir-vos que estem tractant temes molt interessants, molts dels quals ja havia treballat abans en altres cursos i molts dels quals ja utilitzem a classe a la nostra escola. No obstant això, hi ha d'altres que són nous i sempre apareixen matisos diferents que enriqueixen la meusa visió i poden millorar com aplicar aquestes tècniques i activitats...... This is one of the buildings where the course take place. As you can see, it has really good facilities. After three days of course, I can tell you that we are learning very interesting things. I knew most of them because in our school we do a lot of training courses, but I have discovered other activitiens and teaching resources than I didn't know and even for those I knew I have learnt differents nuances that will enable me to improve how to apply them in my lessons.

Hui dimarts hem tingut treball de matí i de vesprada. Pel matí hem tingut sessió teòrica i hem practicat algunes estructures Kagan (com les que fem a classe amb l'alumnat), i després hem fet grups i mitjançant l'aplicació seesaw ens han manat un recorregut autoguiat per la ciutat per descobrir i visitar indrets importants des del punt de vista cultural i històric. La segona part de la vesprada hem treballat per grups de 4 un xicotet projecte o planificació d'unes classes amb metodologia CLIL  que han d'estar relacionades amb algunes de les característiques culturals d'aquesta ciutat. Hui ha estat un dia de conéixer coses noves. D'una banda els companys de curs, som aproximadament 20 professors de diferents països d'Europa, entre altres França, Eslovàquia, Holanda, Alemanya, Itàlia i Portugal. D'altra banda el professorat i els continguts del curs que de moment són coses que ja hem sentit en altres cursos a València però amb matisos diferents. Com ja sabeu el curs va de CLIL (com introduir l'anglés mitjançant l'ensenyament d'una matèria) i hem començat a parlar de conceptes bàsics. Una altra cosa a conéixer és la ciutat, Dublin, i com que hem tingut la vesprada lliure he anat a passejar i descobrir també que ofereix aquesta ciutat. Today I have known different things. Sempre que vaig a l'aeroport i viatge en avió pense dues coses: la primera és la quantitat de gent que hi ha al nostre planeta, cadascú amb la seua vida i els seus problemes.... L'altra cosa que pense és que com és possible que els avions puguen volar. En fi, després d'un viatge llarg ja he arribat i estic a l'habitació d'aquest bed and breakfast. Després d'arribar ja tard he anat a veure si trobava el lloc on es farà el curs i l'he trobat fàcil. De moment tot va segons el previst...       Every time I travel by plane I have the same thoughts. On the one hand, I think that we are a myriad of people on our planet, and on the other hand I hardly understand how on earth can a plane fly.  Anyway, after a long journey, I am here, in the bedroom, safe and sound. After arriving here I have gone for a walk to find the venue where I am supposed to have the teacher training.  Everything is going well for now...
